Budapest - one of the jewels of the Danube.

October 7, 2016

We had time to learn to appreciate Budapest's beauty and quiet charm. This city is definitely one of the jewels of the Danube. And a riverboat is the ideal spot to view the city from. One can already see a lot of its most beautiful buildings and monuments from the boat, and plan a more intensive visit later on. In this post we'll show you a few of its most impressive sights shot during one of our many cruises on the Danube. And no, despite what Johann Strauss wrote: "An der schönen, blauen Donau" (On the Beautiful Blue Danube) the Danube river unfortunately is not blue. It can be grey, greenish or muddy yellow but never blue. But whatever color it always remains a majestic and beautiful river and a sight not to miss. Planning a city trip in Europe? Seriously consider Budapest (and its surroundings)

Do also take a leisurely stroll along the Danube to see the bridges and famous landmarks lit up at night. Suburb and very romantic.
