We visited the Gaia Zoo in Kerkrade (Netherlands) back in the days when it was brand new in 2005 and saw it had great potential. We went back now but were a bit disappointed. A not unimportant part of the animals were hard to see because of the abundant shrubbery and trees or were inside. The footpaths can get narrow and when there are many visitors (and the park is successful) the interesting viewpoints (sometimes a window if the animals are inside) are crowded with families with kids and strollers. And except if you muscle them away you can forget getting a glimpse of some of the more interesting animals. We visited Pairi Daiza last year, built on the same concept of different "worlds", and if I would compare I would give a 9 to Pairi Daiza and a 7 to GaiaZoo unless they improve visibility and access to the animals and flow of visitors.
